The Science of Certification: The Year’s Top 10 Research Articles

The quality and quantity of research into important aspects of certification is increasing exponentially. This is both a blessing and a curse for the member board community of practice. Blessing in that we can develop ever-more evidence-based systems. Curse in that we have to more rapidly appraise and monitor the evidence-base. This workshop proposes to debate what research matters to the ABMS and MBs community. By proposing candidate articles relevant to our mission, even with what will be an imperfect selection process, the hope is to generate discussion that makes both researchers and practitioners better off.

The presenters will strive to animate a lively discussion about which research matters today. They will do this through both the careful selection of recent articles that have something to say, as well as through celebration of the diverse ways of knowing that can aid our mission. Participants will leave with an annotated bibliography of the selected articles. During the presentation we will leave time for audience members to propose articles we might have missed.
