Dr. Dias is a physician-scientist whose research focuses on the application of cutting-edge technologies, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, wearable sensors, digital biomarkers, and extended reality (XR) to assess and enhance clinicians’ performance and improve patient safety in a variety of fields, including emergency medicine, critical care, surgery, military, and space medicine. His research is funded by the National Institutes of Health, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the National Science Foundation, and Department of Defense.
Dr. Dias is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Harvard Medical School and the Director of Research and Innovation at the STRATUS Center for Medical Simulation at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA, where he leads the Medical AI & Cognitive Engineering Lab.
